I love picnics in the country

Today we enjoyed a picnic by a creek in Chittering with friends. Sure it was wonderful grazing on the hotplates recent "paddock to plate" treat, enjoying locally grown salad, accompanied by a glass of wine.

But by far the greatest joy is watching children running around the creek catching tadpoles and frogs. This timeless pastime, crosses all age groups, together they worked as a team and not one argument. I can only imagine generations of people before us enjoying these simple pursuits with the same sense of gratitude and love for our environment.

Alas, there are some lessons to be had, always bring a spare wardrobe as the little darlings just don't consider, running around in the mud and creek is cold and wet.
